If we had to evacuate on foot we would, of course, take our backpack BOB's. But I have so much more wonderful stuff in plastic totes - stuff that is intended for a car evacation.
It occured to me last night that we could dump the totes into our rolling garbage and recycle bins and pull them along with us. If we ended up leaving them somewhere along the way, well so be it. But at least it increases our options. They even could provide shelter when stopping - hopefully, we'd have the time & resources to hose them out before we left home!
