So now that I've cooked ham #1, and dh had a nice large peice for dinner....how long can the rest of it last without molding?

I just took the electric knife and sliced it all up and put it in a plastic ziplock container. probably not the best thing. It's right about now that I wish I had a food saver machine {sigh}

He informed me he doesnt like ham in sandwhiches and since he's not a veggie/egg/soup eater that cuts out a lot of other options.

For myself I can see making ham/swiss sandwhiches and ham/spinach omelletes but still that won't be very much eaten up by me :D

oh yeah, so my basic question was, can sliced cooked ham be frozen and still edible/tasty after it's dethawed/reheated?

Yes, you can slice and freeze it. I do it all the time. If uncooked it'll keep for about 6-9 months and cooked it should last about 4 months? just a guess on that one.

Heather, my aunt has a recipe for ham meatballs with a sweet pineapple sauce...It is soooo good!!! I'll phone her today and get it for you. She serves it with rice.

And Elise is right, you can freeze ham. :)

Lots of times when I have extra ham that I know we won't be using up I cube it and put it in portion sizes in freezer bags and then I have it on hand for soups, stews, I also make a white sauce with cheese and add ham cubes and serve it over toasted bread or buns.
