Airplane plant

My DD brought home an airplane plant from school-her teacher planted 3 little shoots from hers in a pretty glass for mothers day. My question is: how do I NOT kill this plant???? All she told us was to leave it in the glass till it had to be repotted;nothing about water or sunlight,etc. Help!!!!! I am not known for my green thumb-I've killed an aloe plant:eek: :D
