I have been buying the Aldi's brand Non-Fat Instant Milk (64 oz box) for almost 2 yrs now. I have seen the price go in the past year which ticked me off at the time but I went today I this takes the cake.

They have gone to a smaller box. (9.5 oz) and the price is $5.99. I asked the manager if they where switching to the smaller one and he said yes because not enough people buy the larger box.

The larger box cost $.20 on once but the smaller one costs $.64 on once. I wont be buying my dry milk there anymore. Shop Rite still sellls the same size 64 oz box at $12.89. 10 cents cheaper.

I noticed my aldi's was carrying both sizes now, but I didn't look to closely because I didn't need more yet. I think it does make sense going to smaller boxes...the large boxes were a big chunk of money. I'll have to do some price comparisons to see if my grocery stores carry it cheaper now.

My Aldis has made so many changes, it's no longer worth the 45 min drive.
I can pay about the same prices here etc..

I miss going there and filling up my buggy for less.

I noticed to the other day that the dry milk is $4 more then it was a year ago. I can understand part of it, but $4 seems like a big mark-up.

Yep, they switched to the smaller box here last spring. Unfortunately they still have the best price per ounce here.

I haven't shopped at Aldi's in a very long time, usually because with the prices going higher and the drive it takes me to get there, it usually isnt worth it.

Thank you for the heads up. DH is wanting to make his own hot dogs or sausage and informed me that the recipe calls for dry milk to be used as a binder. I'll have to shop the other places to compare prices.
