Heaven I don't have the book in front of me so I might not be able to answer all the questions.
Which design was your favorite in the first 4 chapters Can't answer, don't have the book. Now that heaven told us, the Log Cabin would be my favorite.)
Did you like the description of the designs at the beginning of each chapter Yes, she did a good job of that.
Could you have stayed on the farm with just your mil as company My mil was a fascinating woman but I would not have been able to stay with her for that length of time, kwim!!
Should she have worried about the husband for her husband. Should he have had to worry about knowing how to sew Changing my answer here to say, I'm not sure. It could have been very valuable to him on the war field and I'm sure she probably was thinking that. He shouldn't have had to worry about sewing, but again it sure wouldn't hurt him (or any guy) to know how to sew.
I had trouble about sleeping on cornshucks each night, how about you Me too, can't imagine what that would have been like. Probably a tad bit prickly I would think and not very soft, although they never seemed to complain.
The statement about letting African American sit at the table on Sunday for dinner, do you think a lot of people from the north thought that way I would think they did during that time period.
Have you ever been to a quilting No but sure would love to.
If you had the opportunity to go would you Yes
Does Alice act really young to you Somewhat, but in reading most books during this time period, I find pretty much the same thing. Not sure if girls during that time frame were a bit young of age.
Did you get enough information of the people in the book No, I actually wish they had given more information on the mil.
Did Alice really have a lot of work to do or did she complain a lot I wondered that too, she didn't seem to be doing a whole lot of work did she.
Was it right for Alice and the other girl to write a letter for Miss Kitty No it wasn't and as you go further into the book, you soon find out why.
Samuel Smead was introduced. What do you think of him Do I have to say - he struck me as one of those guys who thinks he is God's gift to woman". I took an instant dislike to him.
Annie and her little girl, is it a good thing that Mrs. Bullock took them in An emphatic YES!!!
Great questions heaven!!
