Does anyone have Amazon Prime?
Do you buy groceries/household products from them?

I have it until January 6th--I signed up for the free trial. I have it marked down to cancel before then. I loved being able to order Christmas gifts (bought everything from them and LL Bean this year) and how quickly they came. I was wondering if it was worth the $79 annual cost. I know they run a lot of specials in the grocery section....if you buy so much of a certain brand you get so much off. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this. I do use coupons and am going to get back into rebating this coming year. I'm boycotting Walmart so that only leaves Aldi's, Dollar Store, CVS, Rite Aid and one local grocery store (that I hate because it's not so clean but I do cherry pick with coupons from it) The nearest Kroger's is around 40 miles away.

TIA

I have it and love it. A year ago I dropped it as totally unfrugal, but in reality I would find I added the extra book or small item - that I didn't really need - to get to the $25 for free shipping, since the shipping would be as much as the extra item anyway. I probably over the course of a year spent $79 doing that. So I started it again. Now if I want something I just order it, even it's only a couple of bucks, and it comes quickly. Spares me some shopping too. I think it's a deal.

I don't do groceries there, though I have thought about it. The prices don't actually seem, on the items I've checked, much different that what I would be paying locally (the cost groceries in Louisiana, compared with where many of you live, is pretty low). And some things where I could save, like the tea I love and compared the cost on, I would have to buy in really too large a quantity.

I don't buy many books anymore, but I'm slowly upgrading the quality of some of my kitchen stuff, and I've found some good buys there. On the books I do buy, I always check used from their sellers, but often I find the price, when you add the shipping you do pay there, is only pennies different from Amazon's new price with the free shipping. So it get me get new books, instead of sight unseen used.

Too long a post. But in short, yes. I love it and plan to keep it as long as I am buying consistenly from them.

thanks dcomp....i'm really leaning towards keeping it. i know that there is or was a $59 deal going on for a year. so i'll probably cancel and see if a deal pops up before my next order to amazon, if not i guess just go ahead and pay the fee.
