Happy anniversary!

My fav was our first. Dh made lasagna or should I say tried. He layered uncooked noodles, meat and cheese. No sauce. I tried so hard to be polite. It took me 2 glasses of wine to eat a 2 inch square! It was so funny and he had tried so hard!

Happy Anniversary, Greebs and Cea! :dancing:

I don't have a particular one that stands out. We are at 33---almost 34. They begin to mush together after awhile, LOL.

~Congratulations!
Our first anniversary was awesome. I made the arrangements for a vacation rental in the mountains. We stayed a week and just lazed around playing Trivial Pursuit and snuggling in the hot tub and in front of the fireplace inside. It was perfect and we spent less than $700 for the week including food and gas to get there.~

We don't typically celebrate and our gifts are usually house gifts that we kinda need... printer, fire pit, dishwasher, that type of thing.

I would like to plan a get away for our 10th... :)

This past year's. It made our 16th anniversary, but the most meaningful one. We made it through a very bad time in which I left him for three months, was undiagnosed bipolar until two years ago, and had both done things to hurt each other. He'd also been out of work for over two years until he got something this past year and I started university.

It was so meaningful because it was the first time since we were married that we could look at each other and honestly say we still loved each other and was happy to be together. We had a simple dinner of take out served by candle light at the dining room table (teen daughter was evicted for the night), and it was wonderful. White chirstmas lights hung around for ambiance and he even Fabreezed the room with a light floral scent lol.

I'm looking forward to what's going to come in the following years.

Happy anniversary!

We just celebrated over the weekend, and it was very special. For lots of reasons, we haven't really felt like celebrating much the past few years, so it felt so great to go out and do something fun.

In May, for our 15th wedding anniversary, my parents gave us a gift certificate for a night on the Delta King (permanently docked historic paddle wheeler) in Old Town Sacramento, plus tickets to the California State Railroad Museum, dinner in the Delta King's restaurant, and breakfast the next morning. We couldn't use it then, so saved it for November, when we celebrate our "dating" anniversary (which was 21 years this year!).

So, we spent 2 days in Sacramento and had a truly wonderful time, just enjoying each other's company and savoring some really nice meals and nice walks and delicious drinks, and Christmas decorations, and trains, and our beautiful state capitol. A great weekend, and I am so happy!

Happy Anniversary. Our went by this year without fanfare.

The one that best comes to memory is the year we did Fondue. We skipped the cheese fondue, but did the broth and the chocolate. It was nice. We had the pot set up, cooked our veggies and meat when we wanted it, and played several games of cribbage and dominos while snacking on dinner. It was awesome.

I don't think I'll be much help. We were married a few days before Christmas, so every anniversary (almost) has been spent last minute Christmas shopping.

But, I've always wanted to have an anniversary party. It would be nice to really celebrate our marriage with family and friends. We never had a reception, more like a baby shower kind of thing after a parents/grandparents only wedding. We had planned on throwing a real reception the following Summer, but life got in the way. 3 years later it seemed silly to have a wedding reception. An anniversary party would suit me just fine. :)

I'll share a few. One year I made my husbands favorite steak, yams, and cooked oysters in garlic butter, I had red and white roses on the table with gold sparkes all over and candle light. For dessert it was cheese cake. But the part I think my husband liked the most was the bedroom, I had rose petals on the bed and candles all around the room. We had wine with strawberries dipped in chocolate.
But this past year was special. We are raising our 5 year old grandson. So what to do with a small one around. His favorite is pizza. So my husband and I made homemade pizza with him and then we set the table with dinosaur plates and had an orange table cloth. We still had candles and we still had wine, its just that he put such a smile on our faces for how thankful we are for our marriage.
I hope your day was special and you both enjoyed yourselves.

Happy Anv. For our 20th dh rented us a hotel room and we went out to a special dinner. It was nice. Last year our 23rd we went out for a Anv Breakfast and took both our boys Who was 19 and 12 at the time. This year we are going to Ellijay GA to a cabin for a couple of nights. It will be our 24th on Dec 18th. We are going a little early since our Anv is so near Christmas. For our 25thwhich is next year. I'm hoping to save enough to go on a week long Trip. TC
