I've been to Montreal twice. The second time I took my family and they completely fell in love with it.

I've been to Quebec City once.

That's all I've done so far, but would love to see more. I really enjoyed it.

Ah, very cool! Thanks for the recommendation!

I learned french in HS, but is it my imagination that the Quebecois is a bit different... or is my french just that rusty?

Writing is the same... Oral is different.
Kind of like someone from England and someone from Texas. Same language different expressions and accent.

Celina,

I lived in Rouyn for a few years. Born in Sudbury. ;)
Yes I do miss it sometimes. I loved to go camping and canoeing!

Where do you live?

well north bay is home (actually Field, which is between sudbury and north bay, my sister is in sturgeon falls and dad is in verner...) from there it was Sault ste marie, and in march we moved to Wasaga Beach, but there will hopefully be an IT job opening in sudbury for the same company...which we'd jump all over....

What about the diff in Quebec French and Acadian French? I-yi-yi! LOL

Very different! and very cultural!
:)

Kind of like the Quebecois from les Iles de La Madeleine.

They speak totally different than other regions in Quebec or Canada.
It is very similar to the Acadians.

ok, just found this thread....a bit late but i'm joining in anyways!!!

I second Gabe's suggestion with camping/canoeing in Parc National de la Mauricie, fantastic place! for mountain biking and hiking too! you can go for week long hikes if you're into that! it's huge!!

for a great road trip i suggest going around the Gaspesie peninsula.

I'm originally from Trois-Rivieres but spent about 7 years in Montreal. As a kid i visited a whole bunch of places in the province for vacations as my parents like to visit new things but don't speak much English. So it was convenient. Beautiful province.

Yeah, well, living in the US, I had to work and finding decent FRESH cheese curds for a poutine is technically impossible here....so i had my fill a couple weeks before when my husband and I visited my folks for the weekend. Hadn't had poutine in over a year, it was scrumptious!!

I did load up my ipod with music for the occasion for my commute :mdance:
