I just got my dehydrator in the mail and i currently have it running a whole load of onions. The kids want to do fruit leather but i dont know any recipies anyone here have tried and true kids love recipies??

I have Deanna DeLong's How to Dry Foods book. As far as recipes go-it just gives the basics:

Sort, wash and remove stems, peels or cores of fruit. Blend in blender until smooth. Add a small amount of water until the puree is pourable. You can add spices, honey or corn syrup to sweeten. Garnish with chopped nuts, raisins ,sunflower seeds, coconut etc.

Some of the fruit listed for fruit leather:

Apples, apricots, bananas, berries,cherries, cranberries, grapes, peaches/nectarines, pears, pineapples, plums, pumpkin, raspberries, rhubarb and strawberries.

If you have a specific fruit and would like her suggestions for combining with other fruits or spice I would be happy to look it up and give you her suggestions.
