We have an abundance of carpenter bees in the roof in our covered patio, I despise these pesky critters but cannot afford to buy pesticides or a carpenter bee chamber :(

Anyone have any ideas on how to kill them and stop them from coming back?

PLEASE help I am desperate and totally scared of them.

I thought I saw some bee spray at the Dollar Tree, maybe your store has some too... most importantly, do it at night, and, use a red cover to your flashlight... they can't see red

I have spray here but the kind you find at Home Depot and I used it last night once it got dark outside, which I guess was the right thing to do according to the link you sent me, I just might have to tape up the holes with duct tape for now.

I might talk to DH about putting an oil based polyurethane on it as well, from what we know the wood they are nesting into is not treated, therefore making them drill and drill. :(

That was going to be my suggestion--paint b/c they only like untreated wood.
