I must say I do not really see the difference between Levi and Jonathan (I assume it is spelled like this). They are both biblical names.
I see the difference Levi is Levi and Jonathan is Jonathan lol
I think it's a personal choice what you name your children - as long as it has a meaning to you -

I never understood the one name in the phone book when we were kids ((when we were at the age of prank calling people)) :)

Peter K. Whacker Jr. ((yes, I'm serious!!!)) I remember it like it was yesterday!! now, WHY would you do that to your kid????
lol I had to read it twice and now I cant stop laughing
NAMES

I like Ella
me too, but her whole first name is ella beena and I think that is cruel, and odd.

Yeah, that is a wierd hard to remember name. Everyone thinks that dd's name is wierd. Eleni, I don't think that it is wierd. How could anything that I got from the Guiding Light be wierd?

Yes.. they are biblical names..My Aunt is a christian woman and all 5 of her kids names are from the Bible..In my area the name Levi is unheard of..Unless your talking about a pair of Levi jeans..LOL.

lol I havent laughed this hard in a long time lol I had no idea this thread would be so darn funny lol
Yeah, inquiring minds want to know!
Years ago, there used to be a guy in the Jacksonville, Fla. phone book named Hopalong Cassidy. My brother called him one time to see if that was really his name and it was. Can you imagine being named Hopalong? When Johnny Cash came out with the song "A Boy Named Sue" I thought about Hopalong every time I heard it.
My parents hate, HATE, every single one of my kids names, so I guess it's in the eye of the beholder.

Wanted to add that my baby cousins name is Sky...and no his middle name is not walker..LOL..

That was cute, you worded that perfectly LOL! When I read your post I started laughing, dh came over and said whats so funny? So I read him your post and now he is laughing too lol.

Yup, just too cute! :)
My ex bro in law was supposed to be named patches! They changed their mind once he was born. Thank gosh!

His nephews name is Edric. I think that is interesting, he is 4 now so it grew on him.

There was a set of twins my mom taught in school. There names were lemonjello and orangejello. Now do not pronounce lemon jello...it is la maaaan ja lo. and it is not orange jello it is.....or on ja lo....
What???!!! Lemon and orange jello! OMG. Even with the pronunciations--strange. To each his own, though.

In response to the couple going to name their daughter Mylay....my middle name was Lay. My family always laughed and said that my dad named me after a Hawaiian racehorse. He may have. It goes well with my first name, but the few people that knew my middle name harrassed me in high school. Geezz....they made it sound so dirty!!! LOL. When I got married, I changed my middle name to my married name. Goodbye Lay!!!

I love Emma & Connor ~ My kids' names.

I work with some very uniquely named children. The best was a story my former principal told, I tell everyone this story:

A young woman had her twin babies, boys, and names them LeMonjello and Orangejello. Now to see them in print, you can guess that their names are Lemon Jello and Orange Jello, but they have a very froofroo accent when pronounced: lemongelo and orangelo. I promise this is true.
The Lemon Jello and Orange Jello name thing has been floating around our town since I was in Jr High(late 80's). I remember a girl in the freshman class getting prego with twins and we all asked her was she goig to name her kids that.

One of DS's good friends is named Levi. Not my choice of names, but not uncommon in this area. Maybe a regional thing.

One of my son's friend's aunt had a baby boy this past summer and she named him John Deere.....their last name is Green. I did not believe it untl I met the mom, dad and John Deere Green himself.

My cousin was named Bena Nikole (after her grandmom). When she turned 18 she had her name changed officially as her birthday gift to herself - dropping the "Bena".
These stories are cracking me up. We have some different names in our family, but it's not the name you love, it's the person. There was a doctor here named Dick Whitehead and there is one named Doctor Seeman that makes me giggle.
Well, when we were pregnant with DD, I wanted to name her Bronwyn Jade (we were living in the UK). Bronwyn is Welsh and I thought Jade was really pretty. One day during my pregnancy I just quit liking the names - much to everyone's relieve including my teenage DS  So I let DH pick the name - he picked Aidan, I picked Isabella for the middle name. Now, again we were living in the UK in 2006 - little did we know Aidan was one of the most popular names of 2006 in the United States!!!! Now we are back here and everyone - mainly boys- are named Aidan/Aiden/Ayden, etc..... There are two other Aidan/Aiden's in my DD preschool class! The name was not hugely popular in the UK as in the US!! duh.....:ache:
Dianne
PS: DS is named Dakota John - I named him that two months before Don Johnson and Melanie Griffin had their baby and then the name got really popular! Lot of teenagers named Dakota now!
