Basic Green Smoothie


Recipe Description
This is a basic smoothie recipe. It's what I use in the winter when fresh fruit is more expensive. You can also try adding some healthy extras like flax seeds, parsley, ginger, beets, etc.​
Preparation Steps:

Ingredients:
1 cup orange juice
1 cup frozen berries
1 cup kale
1 cup spinach​
Serves:
Directions:
Throw ingredients in blender and process until smooth.​

Yum, sounds healthy. But how do the greens affect the taste? I have been wanting to purchase a blender for a while for this exact purpose but haven't done so as of yet. :scratch:

I think of it like a v8 splash. It has enough fruit that it overpowers the taste of the veggies that you'd normally be subjected to in a regular v8.

I make a smoothie with grapes and spinach and the fruit taste takes over and you don't taste the spinach at all, so I would imagine that the berries (which normally have a stronger taste than grapes) would take over most of the taste.

I'll have to try this one, it sounds yummy!
