Black Walnut and Oatmeal Cookies
Recipe Description
Free-for-the-picking black walnuts are plentiful this year and this is a favorite cookie recipe I always make for the first black walnuts we harvest. The recipe was from the back of a bag of Hammons Black Walnuts and found in my mom's stash of recipes I inherited.

Ingredients:3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1-1/4 c. butter
1 t. vanilla
3 c. oatmeal
1-1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. raisins or chocolate chips (Optional)
1-1/4 t. cinnamon
1 t. baking soda
3/4 t. salt
1/4 t. nutmeg
2 c. Hammons Black Walnuts (I use 1-cup)
Serves:1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1-1/4 c. butter
1 t. vanilla
3 c. oatmeal
1-1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. raisins or chocolate chips (Optional)
1-1/4 t. cinnamon
1 t. baking soda
3/4 t. salt
1/4 t. nutmeg
2 c. Hammons Black Walnuts (I use 1-cup)
Directions:Mix sugar, egg, butter and vanilla together. Stir in dry ingredients and black walnuts. Spoon onto a cookie sheet. Bake in preheated oven at 350°F for 10-minutes. Remove from oven and let cool. Makes 3 dozen.
