~I stumbled across this site last night and read about 1/3 of his thoughts and experience. Just an average, low-income Joe with meager skills built a house himself from books and a friend's advice. I was really impressed by his Can-Do attitude, despite his being incredibly average. The gears in my head started turning on how we might be able build the two bedroom addition were considering ourselves. DH looked at me like I had 2 heads or something. I'm still interested in doing it($10K is a whole lot better than $25K!) but in the meantime I'll go back and read some more. Thanks for the link, I wish we could add an addition but money does not allow for that right now but it might be something we can think about for the future.

thats what were saving up for. my hubby is a construction worker.
We want to either buy a fixer upper or build a bungalo. Hubby says he'll get a electrician, plumber, but he'll do the rest.
