I found this old table cloth at a yard sale for .25c
it has the perfect design for my kitchen! I have 2 small windows above my sink that i want to make valances for.
This cloth is big enough to make a valance for both. It is hand embrodered. i would not think of cutting it up but it has spot that need repair and there is no wasy i know of to fix it. Plus I don't have a small square table.
Now, how can I fix it so when i cut it in 2 the hand embrodery doesn't come out, can I put glue on the back or something?

I was just going to say to run a couple of stictches across where you are going to cut it and then cut in between the stitiches. The fray check sounds better though.

Even some dabs of hot glue very lightly where you cut could help, but I would use a toothpick or something like that to dab it on.
