I posted this at Homestead Garden also so for those of you that read both I am sorry to bore you. I would like to do some homestead linens to make some extra money. Things like cloth napkins, tablecloths, potholders, aprons, etc. How does this sound and honestly for those that aren't sewers do you think you might purchase these things? Where should I sell online, ebay, craft shows? What kind of prices are reasonable I would like to do everyday items and a few special occasion lines. I would appreciate any feedback I can get. Thanks!

honestly not sure, would depend on what people around you want to buy.

Might be good to scope out the local craft fairs and see what is selling. Look at the beginning of the day to see what is hot. That will likely be hot on ebay too I would think. You are testing demand.

Then look at the end of the day at What DIDN'T sell. That tells you what to avoid.

That is just an idea, I haven't done that.

Also the little home linens shops, the upscale ones. They might be interested in buying if it's top quality and you can maintain the same quality thru the lot.

Check what your local Sears and Walmart are selling, and try to avoid duplicating their stuff, as it sells for so little. Whatever you do, it'll likely be in competition with them, so you may need to use special little design details to set yours apart.

Certainly scope out craft fairs- even county fairs (the ones here have vendors who sell HM crafts and items like you want to make). Good luck- remember, you never know, unless you try it.
