Okay, I am back with yet another question, hopefully people don't get tired of me asking this, that and the other because I always get really great answers.

Anyhow, I ended up having to buy a large tub of sour cream and we don't go through it that quickly. Can I freeze it? if yes, should I put it in a different type of container first?

Technically, you can freeze it, but I the texture changes. It separates and becomes grainy when it defrosts. I think it's best to use it in small amounts in sauces, etc.

Can you mix up a dip to serve with veggies at lunch or dinner?

Thanks for your answer :)

It is just hubby and me and we don't eat at lot of veggie/dip or even chip/dip but dd birthday is coming up and even though we are taking a day trip, veggies and dip may travel okay in the cooler.

RE: grainy texture...I can probably live with that if I am just using it is cooking.
