I need help with seasoning a cast iron skillet. After seasoning it today it turned a dark brown-reddish color. But the main problem is it has a weird splotchy/cracked egg shell look. I don't know how to fix it. Any input would help.
Hmm...we seasoned ours on top of the stove for 10 to 15 minutes as I recall, but it's been years since we had a cast iron fry pan. If that's what the directions were for your pan, you should have been okay. Maybe call the manufacturer and ask about it? Or check their website?
