This recipe and the woman who developed it was on a local talk show this AM. She won the Texas State Fair Blue Ribbon for the cookies. The only requirement for entry was the use of Karo syrup. I think they look really good and perhaps something that kids could make for the holidays for home and maybe even gift-giving.
She stressed to heat they syrup and sugar until it just starts to bubble around the edges. She used creamy peanut butter, no brand names mentioned.

1 cup Karo White Syrup
1 cup white sugar
1 1/2 cups peanut butter
2 teaspoons Mexican vanilla
6 cups corn flakes

Cook sugar and Karo syrup in heavy saucepan over medium heat, until sugar is dissolved and starts to bubble around the edges. Quickly add peanut butter and vanilla. Use a whisk to ensure it is well blended. Pour over corn flakes and mix thoroughly. Use small ice cream scoop or tablespoon, and drop onto wax paper. Work fast, as this will start to set up quickly.
