Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix
1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
2 cups all purpose flour
Mix the salt and baking soda together with the flour. Layer the ingredients in a one-quart wide-mouth jar. Pack each layer firmly so everything will fit. Give with serving instructions.
To serve: Sift the dry ingredients through a colander to separate the chocolate chips from the other ingredients. Beat one cup of butter or margarine in a medium size bowl. Stir the sifted ingredients into the butter until well blended. Add one egg and one teaspoon of vanilla and mix well. Stir in the chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets 2-inches apart. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 minutes or until lightly browned.
