Chocolate Chip Granola Bars
Recipe Description
A cookie bar type oatmeal granola bar
Preparation Steps:let butter soften, you can put honey in microwave for about 5 seconds to pour easier if needed.
Level of Difficulty:Easy
Time Needed:cooks 18-22 minutes, cool 10 minutes before cutting
Ingredients:4 1/2 cups regular Oats
1 cup flour
1 TEASPOON baking soda
1 TEASPOON vanilla
1 cup butter
1/2 cup honey
1/3 to 1/2 cup brown sugar(I perfer 1/2)
1 to 2 cups chocolate or peanutbutter chips(I like less)
Serves:1 cup flour
1 TEASPOON baking soda
1 TEASPOON vanilla
1 cup butter
1/2 cup honey
1/3 to 1/2 cup brown sugar(I perfer 1/2)
1 to 2 cups chocolate or peanutbutter chips(I like less)
16 large bars
Directions:4 1/2 cups regular Oats
1 cup flour
1 TEASPOON baking soda
1 TEASPOON vanilla
1 cup butter
1/2 cup honey
1/3 to 1/2 cup brown sugar(I perfer 1/2 cup for a sweeter bar)
1 to 2 cups chocolate or peanutbutter chips(I like less chocoalte and more oat taste)
In a large mixing bowl combine the oats, flour, butter, baking soda, vanilla, honey, and brown sugar. I mixed it with my hand to get it good and well mixed.
Add chocolate or peanutbutter chips.
Press mixture into a well buttered 9x13x2 (I used a glass pyrex baking dish.) Bake 18 to 22 minutes on 325º until tan.
Let it sit 10 minutes before you cut to give it time to set and hold its shape.
My dd LOVES these bars. I am going to see if I can add rice crispies to the recipe and if it turns out I will post the other recipe.
