I just came across a recipe for chocolate-covered coffee beans. It just calls for melting chocolate chips, and dipping espresso beans in them. However, it doesn't say whether the coffee beans should be roasted or not. Does anybody know?

(I got addicted to these things last year in a frugal way--took a test drive which paid in a mall gift certificate, and used the certificate at a store called The Coffee Beanery.

Works either way, slight difference in flavor. I personally prefer them roasted, and I like them better in dark chocolate than milk chocolate. Incidentally, they are MUCH cheaper to make than to buy!!!!

My guess is they would be roasted. But it would be a matter of preferrence.

Thanks, I'll try it with roasted ones first.

I'm definitely hoping it's cheaper to make them at home--I wouldn't have paid the price they were charging at the mall, except I wanted to use up the gc. But, they were good!
