Chocolate Oatmeal Bites

Recipe Description
This is a variation on a familiar recipe. You will end up with coconut covered (if you so desire) chocolate, oatmeal and Nutella balls. No baking required.
Preparation Steps:
Level of Difficulty:
Easy
Time Needed:
Quick.
Ingredients:
1 ¾ cups granulated sugar

¼ cup cocoa powder

½ cup milk

½ cup butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

¼ cup Nutella

3 cups quick cooking oats

Enough desiccated coconut to cover the little balls of yumminess (optional).
Serves:
I get about 40 balls, but it depends how small or big you wish to make them.
Directions:
Put the sugar and cocoa into a saucepan and, over a medium heat, slowly add the milk while stirring.

Stir thoroughly until mixed. Then add the butter and stir until it is melted.

Bring mixture to the boil. Allow it to boil for a full minute.

Remove mixture from heat and stir in the vanilla extract, then the Nutella and then the oats.

Let the mixture cool until you can lift some with your hands and roll into medium-sized balls. Roll the balls in desiccated coconut (optional).

Me too! I'm such a sucker for anything with Nutella in it. No worries about the photos; I'm really bad at visualising recipes so I thought it might help anyone as imaginatively impaired as myself.

I can't wait to try this recipe. :)
They are far too easy to make - it's a bit dangerous for the waistline :bolt:

What are the calories/nutritional value per ball? Sorry, I am trying to eat healthier and was curious.

Oh my goodness, Savvy, I've not got a clue! :toothy: What's nice about them though is that they are small so - theoretically, at least - a couple can help satisfy a chocolate craving without me having to eat a whole chocolate bar or a big bun.
