according to the news we are in for a big blizzard later today. For now the sun is shining and the world is as it should be. We can expect around 8 to 16 inches in the next 12 hours or so. Things are shutting down in anticipation. I should reschedule my doc appointment. It's for tomorrow.

Hopefully it will leave as fast as it comes...hate to say it, but better you than me. I live in Michigan and I am so sick of snow I could puke.

I'm with you on rescheduling your doctor's appt. if it's not for something detrimental to your health...be safe and keep warm!

Hang on Missy, Its working its way down there.

We have white out conditions here now , winds blowing about 50 mph, have about 7 inches on the ground now and we have along way to go. Its snowing about 2 inches per hour! All our schools are closed.

Yep, spring is here, thank goodness I didnt plant the garden.

Please, please don't send a Colorado low this way. We've been in storms since Sun. First lots of rain, then freezing rain, then snow and high winds and today we have high winds and it's stinking cold outside.

We got more snow now than we have all year. Closer to Winnipeg, they've got dumped on big time and they are now having major flooding, along with Fargo, ND

Just shovled my walk, maybe only 4 inches so far, but it's coming donw hard and fast.
Yeah! :)

We SO need the moisture, granted some of my early spring flowers look a bit cold, but seeing that it will all melt tomorrow they will be just fine. Checked on the lettuce and cabbage seedlings are doing just fine, we put a small hoop house over them, so they are portected well.

Forecast is to be back up to 55 on Saturday and the snow should stop sometime early morning on Friday.
We got 4 feet in March 2 years ago, it was pretty much all gone 5 days later aside from some big piles that where plowed up in parking lots.

One thing I LOVE about Denver, is yes, we get snow, but it normally doesn't last all that long. Now the mountains... different story, but down hear in the city unless it's really cold out, it's gone a few days.

Way better than Chicago which is where I grew up, I'll take a Denver winter any day/ any year.

We're getting hammered here! It's not white out conditions, YET! But, I've been hearing it will be. This is all everyone is talking about on the news and everywhere you go ~ kinda exciting, my first REAL storm here! It was interesting seeing everyone making a rush on the grocery store stocking up on food! LOL

Missy ~ I'd reschedule that appointment!

Stay safe and warm everyone! :bigsnow:

I went to work tonight (I work at a truck stop PT) and they were SLAMMED. No one going anywhere. West bound closed, East bound had advisories for no light or wide loads.

Well, it stopped at about 3 here. there's about 5 inches out there right now, It wasn't all that much of a storm here. Not like they made it out to be on the news. I am not sure if it's going to pick back up over night. Glad it'll be mostly gone by Saturday!!

I rescheduled to next Friday, and i may have to reschedule that too!!

Missy, you should see it here! No let up in sight! I heard all day on the news of all the businesses, schools, banks, restaurants, and even the mall closing. We even have a shelter open in the area for anyone getting stuck. I feel sorry for anyone stuck in Denver at the airport, and all the flights that have been cancelled.

Well we ended up getting about 12 inches here in basicaly the city center of Denver.

They did revise the forecast, not going to get much melting today with highes in the mid 30's, but Saturday is still to be 49 and 55 on Sunday, so it won't be around for long.

DP took the truck instead of the car the last few days, so will have to wait for him to get off work today about 3pm and then I can make it to the grocery store. The car just isn't up to driving in stuff like this, heck if it was up to me the car isn't up to driving on any day and should be turned into the scrap yard.

I see that I-25 is still closed up near WY, some 50 car pile up yesterday afternoon and parts of US6 are still closed in the high country. It's so pretty outside and lord knows we really needed the mositure. What's sad is that this is the most snow we've got this entire winter... last biggest snow storm was only 3.5 inches back in January, so it's very welcome even if I am stuck at home for the day.

Hope everyone else id doing well and digging out.

We didn't get it as bad as they said we would (at least at the time of this writing). DH made it in to work just fine. He said there were a few flakes.

Roads in and out of town are shut down from what I can make of the news report.

We got about 12" with some nasty drifts.
