Cream Cheese Nut Shells


Recipe Description
Decadently rich little pecan "pies"​
Preparation Steps:
Bring cream cheese and butter to room temperature.

Preheat oven to 350F​
Level of Difficulty:
Easy​
Time Needed:
< 1 hour​
Ingredients:
3 oz cream cheese
1 stick (1/2 c. butter)
1 c. flour

1 1/4 c. chopped nuts (pecans, walnuts, etc)
2/3 c. packed light brown sugar
1 egg
2 T. melted butter
1 t. vanilla
dash of salt (optional)​
Serves:
24 cookies​
Directions:
Cream together cream cheese, butter, and flour.

In separate bowl, mix together remaining ingredients for filling.

Form cream cheese mixture into 1" balls. With thumb and finger, press balls into greased miniature muffin pans.

Fill each with nut filling.

Bake at 350F for 15 minutes.​

I am eating one now LOL as they were completed on my bake off yesterday. My filling reciepe is slightly different but probably not enough to matter. I do refrigerate the dough for a couple of hours first as it makes it easier to work with. The dough itself is also very good with fruit filling, like blueberry pie filling.
