I love Ziploc bags but they are expensive and actually they don't even sell them where I live, but I have collected about 100 of them in a whole bunch of sizes. I wash them, dry them on the clothesline, and reuse them over and over.

So far, I have not come up with a storage solution for them that isn't really annoying. For now, I just stuff them into the largest Ziploc bag I have (2 gallons I think). Which means that when I want to find a particular one, I end up pulling out 15 of them before I find the right size.

Can anyone think of a way to store them - it would need to be something I can make (I'm decently crafty) or made with items that are reasonably easy to find, since I don't have a big budget, and it ideally would act as a storage / dispenser and wouldn't take tons of space. Any ideas out there?

Just keep them flat in a drawer, smaller ones on top, largest on the bottom.

Just divide them up by size. Then use one ziploc per size to store the baggies. That way you know the correct size of baggie because it is being stored in the same size. Hope that makes sense to you.

This is what I was going to suggest. You can then but the bags with the baggies in the largest bag you have.

I have tried the sorting into sizes and storing all the 1 quart bags in a 1 quart bag, and so on, but I found it very hard to keep them organized because when they are all in the largest bag together it's hard to tell them apart. So over time they just end up all jumbled up again!

Maybe you could stack them and roll them up, then put each size into a cardboard tube of some kind like a Pringle's can, with a label stating the size.

My first thought was tissue boxes as well, but I really like Spirit Deer's idea of using cardboard tubes.

The cardboard tube idea is awesome! I could use paper towel rolls for the ones I have fewer of. Snack bags would probably fit in a TP roll!

I use empty cases from 12 pks of pop. They are the exact height and depth of my kitchen drawer, and I just shove the bags in the hole where the pop comes out. I have two, one for small bags and one for big bags. The bags themselves are usually 4 or 5 different sizes, but I find 'big' and 'small' breaks it down enough to find what I need quickly.

Have you tried using one 1qt bag to house other folded in half 1qt bags - this way you'll know all the bags inside are 1qt. Same with smaller and larger bags. I think this is what shoiji was trying to say.

Another option - have someone mail you flattened Ziploc boxes that they've emptied so you can use them to store your baggies there

Maybe an over the door shoe holder - the pocket kind. I store all sorts of things behind the closet door in my "office/craft room". I'd think it work for baggies, too.

You could stuff them in those plastic bag dispensers they just look like a sleeve made out of material. They are easy to make and you can hang in the kitchen or closet. Hope this helps.

Make tags of the sizes...quart, gallon, etc.
Roll up like sizes together, put a rubber band around them, tie the ribbon with the tag attached around the rubberbanded bags. You could then place them in a drawer, stick them in a decorated coffee can, or some sort of container.

This is what I do with mine. When the prices started going up I started washing some of my 'heavier', more expensive ones.....freezer and food saver bags. Put quart inside a quart, pint inside pint, etc.

Also, similar to SD.........use a paper towel roll (or alum. foil, waxed paper roll, etc.), cut to size, and put them inside that.........write on outside what size, and store.
