Crock Pot in a jar?

Directions:
Looking for recipies for my dad, recently lost my mom, doesn't know how to cook worth a hooey. Was wanting to find something I could mix up in a jar, he could add X,Y, or Z and have a meal. SIL is getting him a good low/hi crockpot. I take him food as often as I can, but working PT I can't do it every day!

You might consider some freezer meals as well. You can take chicken breasts, dump them in a bag with Italian style salad dressing, then put them in portion-servings in the freezer. Then he can just pop them in the crockpot in the morning with a couple of chopped up potatoes, carrots, whatever, and have a nice meal by dinnertime.

Hmm...yummy sounding. The red beans n rice n the tuna cass sound good! The freezer idea is good too. Say, any way to talk a guy into ...the beans don't need to soak overnight....the chicken doesn't have to thaw first ....type guy? lol I think I'll check those books out too...Wonder ....Thanks
