Deep Dish Brownies

Recipe Description
A very chocolatey brownie recipe that mixes up pretty quickly. I usually double the recipe. Sometimes, I add nuts because DH likes them. They are good either way.
Preparation Steps:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease an 8 inch pan or spray with cooking spray.
Melt 3/4 cup butter/margarine.
Level of Difficulty:
Easy
Time Needed:
15 prep; 45 bake
Ingredients:
3/4 cup melted butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
3/4 cup A/P flour*
1/2 tsp. baking powder*
1/2 tsp. salt*
(I use 3/4 cup self-rise flour + 1 tsp.)
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
Serves:
Approximate: 18 servings
Directions:
In a large bowl, blend melted butter, sugar, and vanilla.
Beat in eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Combine dry ingredients, mixing well.*
(I usually skip this step.)
Gradually blend dry ingredients into egg mixture, mixing well.
Bake in preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan.
Let cool, then cut into squares.
