Thanks. Unfortunately, I am dealing with my info being compromised and have to track it because of the strong possibility of additional fraud. :dis: I typically do get my free annual report (which is great), but I am having to be a lot more aggressive to protect myself. I am open to any recommendations on other ways to do this...
Anyone else dealing with this right now? Would appreciate any recommendations!
If that is the case
do not use the free credit service, they are allowed by law to take longer to "fix" the problem if you find one. According to a lawyer I know if you then find the problem with the free and try to pay for a credit report , so they have to fix within the mandated time it doesn't count as you started with the free..... I know , I know ,look it up it is true many have had trouble with that , and you don't need to buy additional trouble right now.
There are many out that will do what you are looking for , such as Identity Guard , just research, find the best one, with the best ratings and best price to do this for you.
Be diligent find all your information , what is wrong and if fraud contact the companies right away, place a report, cancel cards, put a freeze or change account numbers for bank etc. Make a report to the 3 credit reporting agencies, some people in certain areas even have 4 agencies that report their credit, you will see if that is the case . Make the report in writing ,
don't call them, yes that is an option. Don't use it , put everything in writing, in the report manner that each of the 3 request. Best of luck to you.
