Ours is Black Eyed Peas and Ham...

My Irish ancestors have Corned Beef and Cabbage...

both are supposed to symbolize a prosperous new year..

What is yours and what does it symbolize?

On new year's eve we usually have steak and shrimp. This year we had lobster, since we got it free and crab legs. This is the one meal a year we really splurge on.

This year we are having smoked turkey, mashed potatos, yams, a veg, and apple turnovers. Our ds#1 will head back to his base the next day so this is a special meal for him.

We had cheese fondue and a nice big salad for dinner. We like to have that for dinner on NYE because we do a lot of talking between dipping into the fondue pot. It's fun too.
Dinner today will be a beautiful center cut bonless pork roast that I got a good deal on. It looks gorgeous and will easily be enough for 2 meals. No special reason for choosing that except we really like pork roasts.:toothy:
