Easy and Cheap Stuffing, Bread Dressing

Recipe Description
A cheap, tasty and quick way to prepare stuffing/bread dressing.​
Preparation Steps:
You must use stale bread. So buy from the day old rack or leave your fresh bread out under a towel overnight to make it stale. You must also use 2 or more varieties of bread. Using all white or all homemade or all hearty grain breads will cause the stuffing to fail and have a poor texture.
Chop veggies. Chose and prepare your broth option.​

10 minutes​
1 stick unsalted butter
1 cup chopped onion(1 medium)
2 large stalks of celery, diced
20-24 ounces of mixed stale bread
1/2 TB ground sage
1/2 TB poultry seasoning
1/8 tsp ground black pepper
3 cups homemade salted broth OR 3 cups unsalted homemade broth with 1/2 tsp. salt OR 3 cups of water with two dissolved bouillon cubes​
About 12, 1 cup servings​
Preheat oven to 350*.
Saute chopped veggies in butter over medium heat for about 5 minutes until onions are translucent.
Tear bread into pieces into a ungreased 9X13 baking pan. I use a glass pan. Fill to heaping. This will be 20-24 ounces of bread depending on the varieties used.
Transfer cubes to large bowl. Add spices to bread cubes and mix well.
Add cooked veggie mixture to bread cubes and mix.
Spray baking pan with non-stick spray and add bread cubes.
Pour broth over cubes.
Bake at 350*, uncovered, for 30 minutes.
Remove from oven, stir and fluff with a large fork and cover with foil for 5 minutes before serving.
Serves 6-12 people.​

This is pretty much how I alwaysmake my stuffing. Sometimes i 'spice' it up with mushrooms or apples or sausage or walnuts or such.
