Egg Drop Soup


Recipe Description
Egg drop soup recipe originally seen on recipezaar​
Preparation Steps:

Time Needed:
Ingredients:
3 cups vegetable broth
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons cold water
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 egg (slightly beaten)
1 scallion, with tops, finely chopped​
Serves:
Directions:
Bring vegetable broth to a boil in soup pot.

Add 1/2 teaspoon salt & stir.

Combine water and cornstarch. Stir into broth.

Lightly beat egg in a bowl and add a small amount of hot broth, stir slowly a few times. Add egg mixture into hot broth slowly, stirring slowly but constantly until egg is cooked.

Garnish with scallion.​

This sounds good. My husband loves egg drop soup. I will give it a try.

Thank you for posting this recipe. I love egg drop soup.

It sounded great for lunch today. I was pleasantly surprised on how easy Egg drop soup is. (hubby even said good luck with that when he learned I was trying Egg drop soup He seemed surprised when it turned out)

We are not vegetarian and I only had chicken broth available so I made it with that. I also added hot sauce to my bowl.

Yum it hit the spot

Thank you for posting this recipe. I love egg drop soup.

I'm glad you liked it! Just wanted that soy sauce is a good addition as well :) Like the hot sauce idea.
