I just used the turkey fryer HEAT SOURCE and set my regular canner on top of it. Sorry, should have made myself more clear.
But now that I think about it, I made chili and stuff in my canner all the time, and never had a problem. I'd not heard that before.
And mine uses Vaseline (an oil) as a sealant, too. I've never heard of this - especially as my pressure canner is a pressure cooker, too there's always some sort of oil or grease in the recipes I'd cook.
