I went for my follow-up WBS (whole body scan) after the RAI treatment & even after my treatment had been delayed for 2 months, none of the thyroid cells - good or bad - had spread. They were all congregated in my neck. So now we have to play the waiting game for the next 6 months....I'll be going in for blood tests to check for cancer activity (if there is any) & sometime in February, I'll go in for another WBS to make sure that the RAI did its job & killed all of the thyroid cells. Doc seems to believe that I'll never have to go through treatment again.
Things are getting back to normal around here....even Murphy decided to pay us a visit - he's such a jerk. The hospital didn't fax the info needed to process my claim when it was requested of them... & the insurance sent us a notice that the treatment that I had wasn't medically necessary. Argh....but that is being worked out now between the hospital & insurance. Then the AC went out in the house & dh had to run to Walfart at 11:30pm to buy some fans to get everyone through a very uncomfortable evening. That problem was resolved quickly this morning & it didn't cost us as much as we thought that it would. Thank goodness for EF's
Now, all I have to do is shed the extra 7 lbs of bloatedness that resulted from being off the thyroid meds....shouldn't take me long to get back to my elven self
