Everyday Quiche!


Recipe Description
This is a versatile quiche recipe, it can be modified with whatever is in season or what you end up having to use at the end of the week.​
Preparation Steps:
Cook the veggies in a bit of oil (or steam them)

Mix the eggs, milk, nutmeg, salt-pepper and cheese in a separate bowl.​
Level of Difficulty:
Easy​
Time Needed:
prep: 20 bake: 25-30​
Ingredients:
1 pie crust, unbaked
3 eggs
milk
1 cup cheese, grated
pinch of nutmeg
salt-pepper
seasonal veggies
leftover cooked meat (bacon, ham, chicken, sausage, luncheon, roast, etc)​
Serves:
4​
Directions:
Line the crust with the veggies, top with meat.

Pour the egg mixture on top (you may need to spread out the cheese a bit)

Bake in preheated (375-400 F) oven for 25-30 minutes (until the top is slightly coloured)

*2 leeks and a couple slices of bacon is my favorite
*mushroom and leftover roast meat
*a bunch of spinach and some ham or bacon is cheap all year around
*asparagus or brocoli work really well too

** serve with soup or salad​

I forgot a good tip!

you can also roll out the pie dough and cut it out with a small bowl to line muffin tins. Fill them up to 3/4 full with the egg cheese mixture and bake at 375F for about 15-20 minutes (check them, once they get browned on top, they are ready)

and voila! mini cheese quiches as hors d'oeuvres

you can also add bacon bits or some cooked veggies, finely chopped.
