I got a call from Costco announcing that Nestle is recalling its' chocolate chip cookie dough due to possible e-coli contamination. Of course this was in my fridge and I was going to bake them tonight, thank goodness for small favors as I am an avid dough eater. I have to say that I am really happy that Costco provided this service, they are one company that isn't scrimping on good old fashioned customer service.

Just wanted to give you all a heads up.

Read about that on my news headlines this A.M.

Wow.....hats off to Costco. That is the first time I have heard of a store doing that.

Often the stuff recalled has later been found in a discount store!! Around here, if you are lucky, they will put it on the news and you best hope that you caught the news or someone tells you about it. I keep a couple recall websites in my favorites and check them at least once a month. Also, the sites that have had their sites 'breached'...which is how I found out my medical had their site breached; as they sure weren't telling anyone!!!

All the more reason to bake cookies from scratch!!! Is it just me, or does it seem like over the last year, there have been tons of food recalls for e coli, salmonella, you name it!! It really keeps me on the frugal path when I just feel like grabbing some convenience food.
