I just made a bunch of block candles with multiple wicks using milk cartons as molds. It worked quite well, even with the seam down one side. I used candle wax and coloring. I hear you can use aromatherapy oils instead of scent. Anyone else heard this? I didn't put any scent in mine. I was mostly using up old wax.

What frugal ideas do you use when you make candles?

I don't actually make candles (though I am sure I will at some point- I always think about doing it) but I DO use up my old wax. I melt it all and make pinecone fire starters as gifts for friends. I use wicks from old, broken taper candles.

I use recycled candle jars and make my own scented candles. I can make a batch of about 10 for what one nice one costs. I order my supplies. There's a candle making tutorial here somewhere........
