OK I need to be accountable so I will try this! We have ice and snow here and dh has been driving us everywhere so:
1) Planned menu for week
2) Wrote down grocery list and matched coupons to list
3) Will turn heat down to 68 and put a sweater on
4) Do laundry in cold.
5) Eat lunch at home and BEFORE I go to the store!:choco:
6) Make cupcakes with mix I made dh get the other day and then didn't make:ugh:
7) Will not ask dh to take me to the mall just because I am bored cuz I know I will spend money on things I don't need and can' t afford:ring:

After a very unfrugal yesterday, today was much better.

We had scratch muffins for breakfast,

homemade dinner, which included meatballs I had made previously and frozen

hung a load of laundry

while dinner was in the oven I made more muffins from scratch for snacks and breakfast

I combined errands and used a $25 giftcard from christmas to get both dd's an outfit for next year off the clearance racks

I saved $22.28 in coupons at the store, and that doesn't even include the store card savings

I got for free - 3 tubes of toothpaste, 3 canisters of oatmeal and kids shampoo and detangler

heat at 65 all day

yesterday the heat was at 63 all night, day and then night, although I have to say that was the only frugal thing about yesterday

Tomorrow however will be very expensive, as we have major leaks in the roof and someone will have to come out tomorrow to look at it. Dh thinks we need to replace the whole roof. it is very old.

Sunday, Jan. 14th..

*No money spent
*Returned an item to Babies R Us (DH thought it would be useful so we registered for it and got it, but never used it) and got a $30 store credit, used it to buy a play mat in clearance and a birthday present for a one year old
*All meals at home
*Bought two pairs of jeans on eBay for $22 total including shipping - one costs $40 new and the other is $50 new. This is cheaper and I know that they'll fit
*Making a list of errands for tomorrow

~ Ran all errands in one trip
~ Used coupons for most of our groceries
~ Got a tube of Crest Pro-Care toothpaste for 79 cents!
~ Paid attention at the grocery store...had picked up 4 boxes of cereal that matched the sale flyer exactly (brand, size, etc.), got to the register and they weren't part of the sale! ARGH. The lady took off 3 of the 4 (but took all 4 boxes away)...at 5.52/box! EEK! Caught it before we left the store... That was after catching that she only used ONE of the FOUR coupons for tortillas!! I "saved" myself $10 that they were overcharging me!! (Not counting what we saved with coupons!).
~ Picked up fru-fru baby yarn for only $1/skein (God baby due end of June!) :D
~ Got apples for 78 cents/lb! (That rocks up here!) :tay:
~ Already started picking up items on clearance for stocking stuffers

So far, so good! :D

Maybe not frugal at first, but today I subscribed to receive just the Sunday editions of our local paper for $1/week. This way I finally have access to inserts and coupons. This also gives me a supply of window cleaner, carpet covering during crafts, comics to use as wrapping paper, and extra packing material.
