~No AC/Heater
~Meals Only at Home
~Went to Library instead of paying to rent movies or buying books

Hoping to have a no eating out, no spending (except for 2 xmas gifts I need to buy for my daughter's gift exchange) week.

Monday
- all food and coffee from home
- stick to meal plan
- get xmas cardds out (no waste of stamps, cards, etc.)
- take advantage of time to do money-saving activities
- keep central heat off and use space heaters
- leave coffee pot off and use thermos for keeping it hot
- meal plan for the rest of the week so to eat up food before it goes bad
- declutter, mostly magazines to give to my friends
- clip coupons from yesterday's paper
- continue to eat food from pantry and prep for big shopping trip in 2008
- all food and coffee from home
- stick to meal plan

~ Heat set at 62 during the day
~ Using the dryer, but leaving door open to the utility closet so it helps to heat our living area
~ Planned out menu for the week around crockpot roast I'm doing today - will make two more meals from it
~ Using up the package of size 2 diapers (this was given to us and I never got around to exchanging for size 3, DS has a tiny tush so they still fit)
~ Only going to the grocery store for milk this week
~ Reconstituting dry milk for cooking and baking
~ Will be baking Christmas goodies for gifts for my step-mom and step-sister this week
~ DH is commuting with co-worker

Not very frugal last week! This week I will try to be!
Sunday:
*Heat off when gone. And on 66 when home.
*Breakfast and dinner at home, lunch at my mom's.
*Made gingerbread house for fun!
*Lazy night...no spend daY!
Monday:
*Heat on 67 day 65 night.
*All meals from home.
*Need to pick up some salt ( will get 80lb bag, not the smaller bags just because I can lift!)
*Requesting samples, using samples
*Got drop in daycare kids extra $$$.
*Making some meals today for the week! So no excuse to eat out anymore!
*No laundry or dishwasher today.

~baking all day for the holidays. Cookies, cookies, cookies
~made some bananna bread as gifts. Wrapping them in plastic bags that I have from years past
~had to wash quilt as puppy made a mess on it.....not frugal but used at night to keep warm instead of turning heat up!

~staying home= no gas+ no $$ spent
~no laundry today
~used space heater in my office and left rest of the house chillier
~intend to make sugar cookies tonight. Oven will help warm house plus yummy
~cleaned out spice cabinet and realized I dont need to buy any more for awhile
~reviewed freezer contents and made plans to use a few items up
~ordered a book at the library that I want instead of buying it
~DD brought home several cookbooks and 2 non fiction that her employer was tossing out
~thawed some burger and plan to make meatloaf and a casserole for the week. Avoid take out or eating out!
~leftovers for lunch instead of tossing them out. Use it UP

- snow day today, so dh didn't drive anywhere - I had to take ds to the doctor
- used a coupon for a free $25 GC to CVS with my new prescription, which only cost me $3
- hung a load of laundry
- having a fire to help heat the house
- banana bread from scratch for breakfast this morning
- washed ziploc baggies
- breakfast for dinner tonight
- made myself some cloth napkins, I have 12 to make, but my sewing machine is acting up, so I only have 10 done
- took garlic and honey to help fight the horrible cold I am coming down with, thanks kids!
- For Sunday I didn't drive anywhere, washed ziploc baggies, hung laundry, kept the heat at 65, dinner from scratch, etc.

-Spent the weekend at IL's so we ate good!
-I cooked chili today so that will go until lunch tomorrow.
- I am going to make vegetable soup tomorrow for dinner.

Dec. 16th
~snow day! Work cancelled - no spend day (also no Xmas shopping finished but oh well)
~all meals, coffee from home
~shutting off surge protectors (but family wants tree lights on - sentimentals)
~to bed early
Dec. 17th
~Lost my coupon for chocolates so didn't spend on that :shake:
~spent a ton at grocery store, but saved with coupons at least
~chipping in for gift card for a teacher gift - saving me about $30!
~worked out, showered & sauna at YMCA
~got a pretty fleece remnent to make a scarf with & .25 necklaces for kids at fabric shop

Tuesday:

no eating out this week
tonight me and my kids are making ornaments for our tree using things we have around the house
My kids are helping me make supper all week so we can be creative with what we have
I bought juice from frozen concentrate vs buying bottled so that will save 50% of the money used for juice

~no laundry today as no full loads
~hit library for 2 books I wanted to read. Did buy a canvas tote there for 3$. Not frugal but good fundraiser for the library and good for the environment as well
~last puppy class of the series tonight. Giving trainers HM boxes of chocolates for holiday thank you and bananna breads recently made as well
~eating at home from freezer and leftovers in fridge...use it up..use it up

The most frugal thing I did this week was call and price vets to start the shots for the new puppy we just got. The best price I got when calling yesterday was $180 each set of shots. Today I decided to call that vet in petsmart, thinking they would be expensive. The puppy is now enrolled in their wellness plan. Was $100 to join and then $21.95 a month for a year. It covers all his shots and his neutering (sp) ($300 was the best rate I got at other vets in my area for neutering), physicals and other bloodwork and cost if visits if we have to take him in cause he is sick. Though if he is sick we will still have to buy any meds that are needed. By joining the wellness plan I will save around $500 over the course of the year, considering what the other vets wanted for the shots and neutering.

Today was not a frugal day. I was sick and was not in the mood to cook so DH went to Wendys. I basically laid around all day and was pretty worthless! I am going to start typing up a letter to the YMCA to go ahead and cancel our membership. $80 a month is just way out of the range for now. Oh yeah, DH, dropped his cell phone into water so now we have to get another one (at least we have ins. though)
