Starting the thread for this week even through today will not be frugal for me
* Dinner in crock pot - home made kraut in 1, corn beef in the other. Should be enough for dinner plus rebin sandwiches later in the week
* Will spend 300.00 today for youngest grand daughters playhouse. Planned for since her birth, budgeted for and will pay cash but still spending
* Will work on cleaning house today and decluttering or recycling what I can
*Opened mail and received coupon for free Glade candle and refill (10 value)
*trying to see if I can use some old clothing to back a quilt or to fashion other quilt tops or pillow tops
* Plan to watch a Netflix DVD for entertainment and read my library books

Will post more later if I manage to actually do something else! Happy sunday everyone

Mamaw - great job on the $530 overpayment on your debt!

3/2 frugalniss:
1. Washed 1 load of laundry on "quick wash" cycle. It was a hot load, as we have well water and cold just doesn't clean like city water did. I am on my way to hang it up to dry.
2. Dinner is in the crock pot.
3. We're staying home today.
4. Will cut & organize coupons.
5. Will put away all the freebies I picked up at yesterday's home & garden show. I'm set on ink pens for the next year.

My challenges for this week...

Make list of errands to be done this week in one trip (to save gas & wear & tear on car).
Make out grocery list using ads & coupons.
Make out birthday cards for the month.
Eat home every meal...no going out to eat!
Set up cable/internet bill to be automatically deducted from checking account...saving the cost of a paper check & a stamp each month.
Set up telephone bill to be automatically deducted from checking account...saving me the extra time of going to the phone company's website each month.

I'm new to these challenges, but have been inspired by Frugal Village for a while, so here goes:

*stuck to our new weekly grocery budget - came in $10 under (made a meal plan and shopped using the weekly flyers)
*stuck to our new weekly "entertainment" budget
*got books from the library
*inventoried my pantry
*cooked a frugal soup to have for lunches and dinners during the week
*washed and reused baggies
*hung clothes to dry

These are things we have done the past few days. :)

*Listed on ebay the scrubs I wont be able to wear at my new job
*Sold two old phones on ebay ($80 and $20)
*Sold our old matress and box springs in the IWanna ($40)
*Helped my sister move, she gave us $20 for gas and bought us lunch
*Did not grocery shop this week, using what we have
*Went to 8 hour orientation for new job Saturday (will eventually get paid for it)

I may edit if I think of more :D

Sunday 3/2:
*got groceries and stayed within budget range
*all laundry in cold
*all meals at home
*made snacks and drinks for week
*not so frugal : bought $40 hand rail for camper steps, not cheap, but better than the $300 ER bill to have DS's head sewn up last year because he tripped down the stairs

--cleaned out my pantry...found some energy saver light bulbs.
--washed in cold water
--made homemade bread...cooked from scratch
--DH fixed a broken timer for our garage lights. A new switch would have been $25.00.
--mixed yesterday's coffee grinds with some new. That trick worked well...thanks to those at FV who have suggested it.

I'd like to join in too! Off to a good start.

Saturday I stayed home/no shopping or errands.
Hung 2 loads of laundry out.
Sunday hung another 3 loads out.
Groceries $8, only bought the items I went for.
Only looked at the market, no purchases there.
No eating out this weekend!
Kept the heat turned down (65) all weekend.

Sunday:

-bought newspapers for coupons. Saw a few good ones, enough to regain the $ I spent on the papers
-talked with DH about building a greenhouse and small chicken coop to save on grocery bills plus it's healthier
-only unplanned purchase was pain reliever for DS
-resisted the urge to go out for lunch
-all meals at home
-dinner was in the crockpot
-fixed dinner for Monday night and breakfast for Monday morning while I was cooking for Sunday
-made snacks for the next few days (pretzels dipped in white chocolate...yum...I already had the supplies on hand so no special purchases)

Monday:

-no spend day!!!
-all meals from home
-lights off, TV off
-decided to use a math book I already have instead of buying a new one for next school year
-trying to organize homeschool materials...that may take a few days. I have found a few things I forgot I had!
-kids playing outside for free entertainment. It's beautiful outside but it's supposed to be quite stormy tomorrow.
-Netflix DVD and reading for my entertainment
-only driving to DS's soccer practice, not far at all

- went through 4 bags of clothes given to dd, we have so many size 5/6 it is crazy! I don't want to get rid of anything though, as my 2 dd's such different shapes, so what doesn't fit the older one might fit the younger one. Eventually I will pass them along though, right now I am just grateful.
- hung laundry
- leftovers for dinner tonight
- 66 degrees here, so heat not really coming on
- washed ziploc bags
- combined errands today
- mailed our tax payment - no escrow acct here, so I collected interest on it all year, yeah!
- using diva cup
- got a sample garbage bag in the mail
- paying a bill online to save a stamp
