~DH grilled dinner.....no utilities used or heating the house
~Made tea and a pitcher of tang
~Boys ate leftover pizza for lunch
~DH and I purchased a new washer today....it is a GE energy saver and we got $100 in rebates back!! It will be delivered, installed, and the other one removed and taking away for free!! (Our other one has been slowly dying. We have had it forever...and ever...and ever. I have to actually use a butter knife to hit the switch to get it to spin cycle. I think it was about time for another one.)
~Mended the dog bed instead of tossing it

- all meals at home today, even though I was tempted to eat out
- hung 3 loads of laundry
- checked out the Dollar Tree near my house and got some good deals

Today we used coupons and sales to save 49% at the grocery store bringing our total from 169.00 to 86.00.

We drove my in-laws cabin up to the mountains instead of our own car to save us gas.

We worked 4 hours for my in-laws and they will pay us cash for helping them work on the cabin.

We ate at home all day today, and brough food up to the cabin instead of eating out.

This week I plan to carpool as much as possible, stick all my errands into one trip, let hubby use my car every day that I don't need it, and save the money that I do have in my wallet.

Oh my...why is it birthdays always end up so expensive?!?

Tuesday:
-bought b'day cake instead of making it like I said I would. What can I say...I'm tired.
-fixed breakfast and lunch at home but DH suggested I pick up dinner and I didn't object
-bought DD a guitar for b'day from Wal-Mart that promptly BROKE after she took it out of the box...gonna go and get $ back
-took DD and friends (2) to paint pottery for fun. Made them choose the cheapest thing...still spent $25
-did take them to the pool which = free

Wednesday:
-received call from grandparents saying they are coming for a visit TOMORROW. Ugh...Hello...my grandfather just got out of the hospital yesterday. Now they are planning a 3 hour drive here, then 3 hours back. Does that make sense to you all?!? I know I should be grateful because they won't be here forever. Did I already mention I've had company all weekend and a party yesterday? We still have family coming this weekend to celebrate DD's b'day. This is getting out of control!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-finished buying all of DD's b'day presents at Target. She was with me so there will be no surprises but I'm not making another trip this week (30 miles total)
-all meals at home today...eating leftovers from last night for dinner, kiddies having microwavable meals
-took snacks with us while shopping
-planning meal for tomorrow for G'parents visit

I am fighting myself on this challenge. I really wanna just throw in the towel and spend, spend, spend...however
~staying home this evening = no gas and no $$ spent
~no spend day today
~DD made us eggs and toast for dinner....no take out or any other quick fix
~Hope to do some cleaning this evening around the house
~Will need to iron and pack for another business trip on Monday.
~reading books that I have in the house and magazines that I already either get free or subscribe to
~cut coupons and looked at sale ads...nothing really worth shopping for! LOL
~garden is giving us beans and cucumbers...yummy!
~gave a bag of hotel samples of soap, shampoo, conditioner and the like to an organization that packages them for families with children in hospital long term. The family members stay at the hospital and these little things come in handy
~reading a book from Goodwill on simple living and environmental choices. Helps to stay motivated
~DD is decluttering her room and found my plastic box full of embrodery floss. Saving me tons of $$$$$ since I will not have to buy again and replace
~planning to thaw chicken for dinner tomorrow. we need to STOP eating out in order to pay for rising gas prices! AUGHHHHH
