Despite statements denying responsibility, the minute a dry cleaner takes possession of your garment he is legally bound for any damages that may occur. Keep all receipts in case something goes wrong and work with the dry cleaner to come up with a mutually satisfying compromise. If you cannot find a solution contact your state's Consumer Protection Office.
