last Monday morning. The first one I have ever had....... it was so scary...... I was on my way home from Muncie, had been to the beauty supply, it is about 25 miles away from home, and my husband's work crew was working right there at Muncie. I had just went past them and honked at them, and about 2 mi. away, a little jeep liberty pulled out in front of me, they couldn't see me , there was a big Dodge 4 wheel drive truck in the turn lane beside me, I had my cruise set at around 55-57 and I saw them start to pull out... they didn't see me at all!!!!! I slammed on the brakes, but there was nothing I could do but hit them!!!! I T-boned them pretty good, I think they were totaled, and mine was bad , but not that bad..... they were ok, bruised ribs, bloody forehead, ( he hit his wifes' Kenny Chesney CDs he told me.) I hit my knee, and the seat belt hurt my chest pretty bad, but other than being really shook up, I was ok,,,,,couldn't breathe real well, for a little bit, but emts checked us out, we were all ok, thank God, and my husband was able to get to me right away. I really fell apart when he got there, but was finally ok,...... The deputy was a lady, and when we were finishing up she said, Just think , you got to see all of these HOT fireman , and I said yeah, and I looked like a Gothic person, had black mascara streaks all down my face!!!!!!

I did end up with some whiplash, and being treated by the Chiropractor, I have continued to work, although by the end of the day my neck and shoulders burn pretty badly...... but, hey, it couldve been sooo much worse. I sure said a prayer to thank God for taking care of me ( and the other couple)...... My husband has been so good to me, helping around the house and all.... and one of my best friends brought us a ton of food, which was unnecessary, but truly appreciated.......

Just had to tell you all how lucky and blessed I am.....

Thanks for listening,

Sheri

THANK goodness you were buckled up and that noone was badly hurt. So sorry that this happened :hugz: My dd was hit by a truck as she was walking on campus and the injuries took a long time to show up (her back still kills her where she landed on her backpack). Did anyone get a ticket? If it was the other guys fault, don't sign anything releasing the insurance from medical stuff for a long time. You have like a year to settle that part (I'm not suggesting suing but you want your medical bills covered).

So glad you are just sore. I recently (month ago) had a post about wearing seatbelts because we were in an accident where the car was totaled and we were just sore. So glad you were wearing yours and are on your way to feeling better. Take good care.

I don't EVER go without my seatbelt......and I would much rather be really sore than having my face shredded by the windshield, which is where I am sure I would have been had I not had the belt on...... I feel pretty good in the mornings, but by the end of the work day, my shoulders and neck are just burning.... I guess it doesn't help since I have to hold my arms up all day doing hair, but thankfully, I am able to work....I don't know if he was ticketed or not, but the accident report said it was his fault, and my close friend works for our insurance company, she has been a big help. She told me not to sign anything either.... so we will see. But the very next day, I was recieving letters from lawyers wanting me to sue them... I just pitched them in the trash.......

Oh how I wish everyone felt like this. I work at a seatbelt/airbag supplier and have seen numerous tests that shows what happens to the DUMMY that doesn't wear the seatbelt. Most people here have seen the tests too but some still refuse to wear it. One woman says it wrinkles her clothes!!

And for the record, those who feel they might be "trapped" in their car because of the seatbelt, you have a MUCH greater chance of being EJECTED from your car if you are not wearing a seat belt. So choose wisely.
