Dh made $200 by selling a salvaged air compressor that someone THREW AWAY on a job site. All it needed was a new gage. Dh rescued it from the dumpster, fixed it up with a gage he had on hand, and sold it for $200. :)

So Noooooow here is my question: what to do with the $$$.
Dh would like to buy a water cooler that has hot and cold water. Our water tastes AWFUL and it is very difficult to drink it even when you are dehydrated. We will be able to refill the large 5 gallon jugs from a spring in the next town so it won't continue to be an expense to buy water.

I was hoping to buy a used freezer with it so I can save money by stocking up, buying and baking in bulk.
My other idea was to put it towards one of our "funds" (Christmas or Home Repair).

Any thoughts?

You can buy a water filter for your kitchen tap for way less than $200. And then put the remainder toward the freezer.

This is what I was thinking too. Also, I am wondering if having to refill the bottles in a spring in a nearby town might "get old". Either way, gotta keep yourself hydrated! Good Luck on deciding and Congrats on extra $$ and on having a resourceful hubby!

I second the water filter too. Then like Contrary Housewife said--put the rest away for the freezer. All of your other ideas are great too. Good luck in choosing.

I agree with the water....whichever way you go it is very important to have good quality water.....and lots of it.
Bravo to your husband on that $200!
