Hello,
I am new to this site so just wanted to say "hello" and introduce myself.
For many years I have belonged to another, similary themed forum which is sadly due to close at the end of this year. So I am looking for a new home and hopefully I can find one here.
I live in the north of England with my husband in a very rural area. We try and grow as much fruit and veg as we can (despite the wind, rain, birds, squirrels, hares and lack of time resulting in too many horticultural disasters). We also try and cook as much food from scratch as we can and make preserves from our garden produce. My long term goal is to try and make my own cider.
We have been renovating our small house for about six years doing as much of the work as we can ourselves. We still have some work to do yet (need to save up first) and our next project will be the bathroom where we are hoping to install a solar hot water shower. We would also like to install solar panels for electricity, but this is beyond our budget at the moment.
I am a sewer, but my real passion is knitting. I am enjoy reading and watching films.
I suppose our main frugal philosophy in life is "save up before you buy" and we only spend what we can afford.
Anyway, enough about me.
Regards
Cath.
