I had these at a party a few weeks ago and didn't get the chance to ask the hostess what they were.

It's a store bought cookie, 2.5 to 3" in diameter, flat on the bottom, slightly domed on top, kind of thin around the edges. The texture is like cake, a little soft and spongy, flavored like gingerbread or a spice cake. They were glazed on top with thin white sugar frosting, and dipped in a thin layer of chocolate on the bottom.

I had thought I would find them in the local stores, but no luck. Does anyone know what I am talking about?

Jaffa Cake?

That's the only thing I could find anyway...and I don't have a clue what it is. There's a small amount of orange cream in the center supposedly, but even in the pictures with them split open...I don't see any cream.



Jaffa cake

1 (18 ounce) box chocolate cake mix
2 eggs
1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 cup salad oil
2 -3 tablespoons cocoa
1 whole unpeeled orange

Directions:
Prep Time: 12 mins
Total Time: 47 mins
1 In a large bowl mix cocoa into dry cake mix.
2 Chop well washed orange in 6-8 chunks, discard seeds, blitz orange til mushy.
3 In separate bowl whisk eggs, salad oil, orange juice til combined.
4 Pour wet ingredients into cake mix, add orange mush and beat all for 4-5 minutes. If it seems a litte dry add water a few drops at a time. Mixture should "ribbon" off beaters.
5 Pour into buttered and floured bundt pan, thump to settle.
6 Bake for 30-40 minutes at 350. Test before removing from oven.
7 Leave to cool before turning out.
8 Frost or glaze with choc orange frosting.

These can't be it though...you said glazed on top

These are my mom's favorite xmas cookie - Lebkuchen cake cookies. We buy them at World Market but Vermont Country Store carries them too.
