Those are pretty neat. I was watching some show on cable (Home Matters?) and they were showing all kinds of camping/survival type things. One of them was a hobo type stove and they were cooking eggs and bacon on top of the large tin can stove and "toasting" bread on the side of it.
Another cool thing was making a shower out of an upside down umbrella suspended from a tree limb. a shower curtain was fastened around it. For a water source they used a clean (used only for this purpose) canister insectacide sprayer.
Interesting stuff.
Dh's dad made their homemade stove for the heating of their home and their house was never cold. Nowadays, its impossible for insurance purposes.
I've seen some of the homemade camping stoves as well and they always impress me.
Thats what homesteading is all about, making things yourself!!
