Our homeowners insurance is coming up for renewal next month, it will DOUBLE! Hearing the same about auto. I am in north central Texas. Hearing the same from friends in different states. Have y'all seen this yet?

Ours went up considerably over the past couple of years. They said it was because of the wood shortage and cost of wood. My auto insurance has gone down.

Some but not that much. Hubby called about the car insurance bill because we are driving less. I am driving a LOT less. They asked for mileages which we had from the service records. They (State Farm) adjusted the rate and refunded us a bit.

Coincidentally, I recently got a renewal notice on our policies. If there has been an increase in price it is not a noticeable one.

@Laurel Mae you might ask your provider about discounts. I get costs knocked off for having multiple policies with the company (home and auto), being a homeowner, being on an auto pay plan, making payments on time, being a "safe driver" with no accidents, using the electronic payment option, etc. There is also a discount available if we let them put a tracker on our car to prove we drive slowly and safely, but DH doesn't want that.

I have every discount. This is just really bad here in north Texas. Friends in Oregon are facing the same thing.
