Laurie, my mom lives in Corpus and they really didn't get the storm as badly as they thought they would. It hit about 30 miles to the north. Here in San Antonio we actually got more of it than they did, I think we got around 8-10 inches of rain yesterday. Houston also has been getting a lot of rain. I think all those in Corpus dodged a bullet with this one. Now everyone's worried about Hurricane Dean.
Hey everybody We're okay. It didn't hit us like the weatherman said that it would. My parents live in Beeville about an hr drive north from here & they didn't get anything either. i'm glad b/c if it would have flooded in Skidmore(blinker town midway), we wouldn't be able to drive the houseapes to see their grandparents today.
The weather channel said that we were suppose to have a 70% chance of rain this afternoon....don't think its going to happen...partly cloudy now.
We have been keeping our eyes on Dean.....he promises to be a nasty storm.
Ah, Skidmore. Every time we drive down to my mom's and see the sign, DH has to utter this line, "Skid more and slide less." Yep, that definitely is a one-blinker town. Glad y'all didn't get hit too badly by Erin, Many houseapes.
