We pick ours up from the co-op direct from the farmer, and are suppose to get a 24-30 pound so not sure till I pick up. I always get the biggest, then make broth, soup, subs, turkey enchiladas, turkey pot pie and anything else that I can with what is left.

I usually get a 20# turkey and then a 5 # breast roast to give us more white meat.

This year most of what I got was 13 lbs. that way I know it will fit in the rotisserie. It will feed 4 for dinner plus sandwiches, plus soup, plus stock.

If he was sitting next to me and read it, yes he would probably crack up. ;)
My son and his friends helped me get some things out of the car, and as they were walking out the door (my son last) I said, there are 2 cases of water in the back and a turkey in the front, and look, one just came out the door.. His friends found it funny, but he didn't..

ummm.... about 2 pounds (yes, two)

It's the 3 of us this year so I bought each of us a cornish game hen. (Diva's idea, she said we could feel like giants with our own tiny turkeys)

I just got a breast roast, since it looks like the two of us at home this year. Maybe 3 lbs?

Got two 10# (the better to fit in the deep fryer, my dear)

I have a picture of DD#2 at her first Thanksgiving sitting on the kitchen counter next to the turkey- which outweighed her!

Our local grocery store ran a special. $.49/lb. with a $10 puchase.

I bought 2~!!!! For $10/ea...they were 20 lb. turkeys. I figure around January we will be ready for another turkey dinner.

Heck...around here...Purdue roasters are around $10...and I get many more meals from this.
